• Duplicate or spam listings.
While we do our best to catch fraudulent listings, no platform can guarantee 100% accuracy. We encourage you to stay vigilant.
How to spot a fake job
Be cautious if a job listing:
• Asks you to pay money upfront — for registration, training materials, a “security deposit,” or any other reason. Legitimate employers never ask candidates to pay.
• Offers an unrealistically high salary for minimal qualifications.
• Uses a free email address (Gmail, Yahoo) instead of a company domain.
• Has vague or no company information.
• Pressures you to respond immediately or share personal documents (Aadhaar, PAN, bank details) before an interview.
• Asks you to click on external links or download files from unknown sources.
What to do if you suspect fraud
If you come across a suspicious listing or receive a suspicious message from someone claiming to be a recruiter on Vero Jobs:
1. Do not pay any money or share sensitive personal documents.
2. Report the listing using our Report a Listing page — we review reports daily and remove fraudulent posts.
3. Email us at communicate@verojobs.in with details of the suspicious activity.
4. If you’ve lost money, file a complaint at your local police station and on the government’s cybercrime portal at cybercrime.gov.in.
For employers: protecting your brand
If you find someone impersonating your company or posting fake jobs under your company name on Vero Jobs, please contact us immediately at communicate@verojobs.in with:
• Your official company email address.
• The URL of the fraudulent listing.
• Any evidence of the impersonation.
We will investigate and remove confirmed fraudulent listings within 24 hours.
